The Hollywood Foundation is proud to announce the Future is Hollywood Foundation Bursary Programme, aimed at providing financial assistance to South African students pursuing higher education.

Running from 01 August 2024 to 15 September 2024, this bursary offers opportunities to students from their first year of university through to postgraduate studies.

Objectives of the Hollywood Foundation Bursary Programme

The primary objective of the Hollywood Foundation Bursary Programme is to attract, retain, and develop potential students. The foundation aims to facilitate the growth of individuals in ways that will maintain and sustain various industries, particularly in fields critical to South Africa’s economic development.

Eligibility and Requirements

To qualify for the Future is Bright Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
2. Course Duration: The course must be at least 12 months long.
3. Qualifications: Eligible qualifications include Higher Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees, and Postgraduate studies from institutions registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
4. Academic Performance:
   • Grade 11/12 results: At least 65% in each subject required for entry into the qualification.
   • Tertiary results: Minimum average of 60% in the 2024 mid-year exams.
5. Interview: Shortlisted applicants must be available for online interviews.

Applicants should refrain from applying if they do not meet these requirements, as those found applying with false information will have their applications terminated.

Financial Assistance and Retention Agreement

The bursary covers specific academic expenses for the year 2025, including:

• Registration fees
• Tuition fees
• Examination fees
• Approved prescribed study material/textbooks

Recipients are required to:

1. Annual Review: Reapply each academic year for subsequent bursary consideration.
2. Holiday Work: Spend at least 50% of their holiday doing vacation work at the Company, with a stipend for transport costs.
3. Academic Performance: Maintain a pass rate of at least 60% each academic year.
4. Exclusive Commitment: Not hold any other bursary, award, internship, or emoluments that require service to another organization post-graduation.

Failure to meet these conditions will result in the suspension or termination of the bursary, and recipients may need to reimburse the Company.
